Breast Cancer Awareness: Making a Difference

22 Oct

ImageOver the weekend, we participated in Barbells for Boobs, an event hosted by Crossfit High Voltage, geared towards raising money and paying homage to those stricken with the burden of cancer.

Barbells for Boobs is an annual fundraiser that combines the efforts of Mammograms In Action working in conjunction with CrossFit affiliates worldwide to raise money and awareness for the fight against breast cancer. 100% of the proceeds were donated to Mammograms In Action, a non-profit organization located in Southern California. The Mammograms In Action Program was developed to provide funding for qualified low income and uninsured women and men who need screening and/or diagnostic procedures in the prevention of breast cancer.Image

In commemoration of those loved ones, Crossfitters all over the world get together and take part in a workout called “Grace” consisting of 30 Clean and Jerks (135 lbs for men/95 lbs for women) for time.  It was a great opportunity to crush a grueling workout in the name of a great cause!
